What it’s about
PolkaPort East emerged from the decentralisation efforts of Polkadot, and is supported by the Decentralised Futures program of the Web3 Foundation. We are here to connect, educate, and promote Polkadot’s adoption in Hong Kong and beyond.
INVESTOR RELATIONS
Many of Polkadot’s initial investors are from HK and Mainland China. We speak with them regularly, keep them updated on the latest developments and introduce new investors to the ecosystem.
EVENTS
PolkaPort East is all about community building. We host regular Polkadot meetups in HK, fireside chats with Polkadot founders, investor dinners as well as larger conferences.
BD & GROWTH
We act as a local contact point for teams already building on Polkadot, and actively introduce new ones to the ecosystem. We can help with accessing grants and VC funding, and generally help navigate the Polkadot ecosystem.
Who we are
Our team combines TradFi expertise with a strong conviction in Web3. We have worked on different aspects of the ecosystem in the past, and came together because of our shared vision for the future of Polkadot.
Max Rebol
Max has established himself as a key spokesman for Polkadot in Hong Kong’s crypto circles, after having founded Harbour Industrial Capital, a Polkadot-focused VC fund. Born and raised in Austria, he spent over 15 years in the Greater China region where he worked for an investment bank prior to discovering Bitcoin and diving into crypto full-time.
Vincent Chan
With several years driving growth across the Polkadot ecosystem, Vincent has established himself as a leader and advocate in the space. He began by leading growth initiatives at Parity Technologies and then moved on to spearhead growth at Astar Network, managing enterprises and growth strategies. Prior to that, he has been advising startups on launch strategies and was also a key contributor to Asia's first student-led venture capital fund.
Thibault Perréard
Thibault has been leading strategic and business development initiatives for Bifrost,a Polkadot based project since 2021. He has also been actively driving efforts in enhancing Polkadot's APAC presence by building key partnerships and engaging with major stakeholders across the industry. Previously, Thibault spent his time working in the institutional Forex space out of Switzerland.
